When shopping for a credit card look for the lowest possible interest.
Decide what you want to use the card for. Frivolous use of a credit
card can lead to serious problems in the future. Bad habits beget bad
habits. Don't even thank about asecond credit card if you are already
50% maxed out on the one you are already using. If you get a card for,
let's say 1000 dollars it would be a good idea to set aside at least
250 dollars in a credit union or a second bank account even if you have
to work hard at saving the money. Add to this money periodictly. Then
if you can make more than the minimum payment because of a bottleneck
you can withdraw from this fund. If you see something you don't really
need put it in the lay-a-way. Be wise, be diciplined, be thrifty. Don't
dig yourself into a hole. Know when you are loosing control. If you are
feeling guilty you probably very well could be experiencing the first
sign of loosing control.
