Subject: Mon River Rail-Trail Clean-up planned for Opekiska

Hi everyone,
Sometimes the weather does NOT cooperate.  MRTC is planning a clean-up along the Mon River Rail-Trail in the Opekiska area starting at the Dam.  This was to be scheduled for next Saturday, March 26 but the weather forecast for the weekend is looking bad so we are looking to possibly reschedule for Sunday, April 3.  STAY TUNED for a weekend cleanup.

Parking available along the road at the Opekiska Dam.  We will then walk or bike in to the area which is about a 15-20 minute walk and clean up as we go.

BUT Karl Diefenbach is going to start work TOMORROW- Tuesday at 11AM.  If anyone wants to join him tomorrow, we will get this TRASH BASH started. Meet him on the on the road near the Opekiska Dam at 11AM.   If you would like to RSVP to me- el...@montrails.org.  My cell is 304-692-6782

Here is Karl’s post on his FB-
I will be doing an impromptu Mon Rail Trail cleanup south of the Opekiska dam tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22.  If anyone would like to help, I will park at the dam at 11 a.m. before riding my bike down to the pickup spots.  There are 10 curated trash locations for your garbage-picking enjoyment from 0.65 to 1 mile south of the dam.  I should have enough trash bags.  Anyone who wants to have some muddy fun should bring your own gloves, boots, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt.
