This week's deals

I'm seeing some good deals, some of which do not require coupons!

First, at Meijer this week I see Whole Chicken on sale for .69 a
pound. This is a great price to stock up on! They typically are
around .99-$1.19 a pound. They freeze well. If you need a great
recipe for super simple roasted chicken, here goes:
take 1 lemon and slice it into fourths, take a head of garlic and
slice it in half, so there's a top and a bottom half. Stuff both
lemon and garlic into the chicken. Add some fresh rosemary or thyme
in there if you have it. On top of the chicken, lay out 3-4 strips of
uncooked bacon. it will flavor the meat....now roast at 375 for 1
hour. Done, and super yummy! These are great freezer meals. I
usually take the bacon and crumble it into some green beans and serve
with a wild rice/orzo mix. Very yummy!

Okay, recipes done. Meijer also has a great deal on veggies. Green
Giant veggies are on sale for $1 each. There were coupons in the
paper a few weeks back for .50 off any 1, which double to $1, making
the veggies free! If you don't have those, try coupons.com and
bettycrocker.com for coupons--they have $1 off two, making them only .
50 each. Not free, but still a great deal.

Now, if you are stocking up on Huggies wipes, don't forget to use the
manufacturer coupons as well! Huggies coupons work on any product--
wipes, diapers, soaps, they are interchangeable. So visit
Smartsource.com, get your Huggies coupons for $1 off and use it with
the $3 off 2 internet printable I posted last week, to make even the
tubs free!

Last, Kroger has a deal with Proctor and Gamble this week. Buy any
$25 of P&G products, get $5 off your total order. There are endless
combinations of these deals, so I won't post specifics. But there
were great coupons in last weekend's paper--grab those and take them
to Kroger--think of this deal as an extra $5 off coupon! Even better,
sign up on Kroger's website for the P&G clipless coupons, which you
should be able to use with your newspaper coupons for even more
savings!
