PRICE, DELSIE FERN Passed away on December 17, 2007, at the age of 56 in the Dallas
area. She was born in Oklahoma. She was baptized at the age of nine at First Baptist Church. She
graduated from Central High School and then Cosmetology School. She moved to the Dallas area in
her 30's and owned a few businesses. She had her own nail salon called "Delsie's." She then owned a
bookstore called "Lotus Books and Gems." Her last and most gratifying endeavor was her licensed
massage therapy business. In November, 1996, Delsie was in a near-fatal car accident and had a
near-death experience. God asked her if she wanted to live or die and she told Him she wanted to serve.
She spent the rest of her life serving in the "Healing Arts" field. She was one of the best, if
not the best, massage therapist in the Dallas area. Even though she suffered from several chronic
medical conditions after her car accident, she found a sense of great fulfillment in serving others. She
was preceded in death by one brother, and by her mother. Survivors include one brother, one sister
and her father. She will truly be missed by her loved ones and friends. Her interests were raising
her Yorkies, painting, sewing and crocheting, reading, country dancing and gardening. She was in
the process of making her yard into a healing sanctuary.

Please share this information with anyone who knew Delsie.

Delsie Price: She just wanted to dance. And she did.

I don’t know how many of you knew Delsie Price. She was a very sweet person which I know Greg McDaniel, Larry Harmon and myself used to dance with on a regular basis over at Cowboys Arlington when we were all regulars over there a year or two ago. You know. Back in tha day. I just remember that Delsie loved to dance like all of us. She always had a smile and wanted to dance. She probably had the same challenges and dreams like all of us. She got that same thrill from dancing like most of us. I think that is the basic thing that connects us all in the dance community. You can’t quite put your finger on it. My Mother once said “But it is just dancing”. I quickly and respectfully responded to her “But it is not just dancing”. It is something more. I mean it is just dancing up to a point but if you continue it becomes something else.  Something more. It is freedom, connection, friends, sharing, good times, support, exercise, learning, expression, release, challenge,  and maybe even a bit of spiritual when you are going thru repetition wonderin when your brain will lock in this or that step on auto-pilot so you can talk to your dance partner without stepping on their toes or knocking them down. LOL. It is more especially for folks like me. I don’t know about everyone else. I am pretty sure it was something more for Delsie.

I had not seen Delsie in quite a while. Anyway, I had always known that Delsie was not well but never knew the specifics. That did not matter. She just wanted to dance. And she did. Because I am sure dancing was something more for her. I understood yesterday that the heavenly posse came and got Delsie just before Christmas when  Greg let me know that she had passed away on December 17, 2007. I am sure in among all of her thoughts in her last days were thoughts about dancing. I am sure that she has just made a transition from the earthly dance floor to the heavenly dance floor up in Full Moon Canyon. She is up there with this magnificent dance partner showing her steps we never even dreamed of here. We all will miss you Delsie.

I am just passing this along from Greg. If you knew Delsie then please see the attached e-mail with some additional words about her and details for her memorial service on Thursday. Pass this along if you know of anyone else who may have known Delsie. If you didn’t know her just know that one of us has passed on which some of us were directly connected to through dance. Direct or indirect we are all connected especially in the small dance community and maybe even in the world.
