It's with a heavy heart that I am writing this email.
In the summer of 1996 I pulled the trigger on my first Corvette purchase - a 'battle scarred' red '69 with a tired 350. I was a single 20-something when I bought it and I was under the impression that I'd spend my weekends cranking on it. Well, I did and each weekend I realized that I had more to fix or more to learn and then fix. :-) I found this CRPL mailing list and joined, not knowing what to expect. What I found was the most thoughtful and patient group of enthusiasts I have ever met. Each time I had a question about my project I knew I could count on the collective brainpower of this mailing list to give me some rock solid pointers.
And my participation soon caught the attention of Jason Fesler, the original CRPL email host administrator. He hosted the list out of his personal pocket and as a favor - he wasn't a Corvette owner, but did have a soft spot for them and had somehow been asked to host the mailing list (in 1999). Soon he and I started working together to share the administrative tasks, and in 2015 he asked if I could take on the full responsibility of the list and move it to a place that would be able to continue our support. Members of this list banded together and we raised enough money to become a "lifetime club member" of the National Corvette Museum which provided the benefit of hosting this mailing list on their site. And that is where we have been for the past eight years.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. For the past few years, Chris Huffman (at the NCM) and I have been fighting email non-delivery issues. As some of you may remember there were some email problems starting a few years ago where major ISPs stopped accepting email from the NCM system. It is because of this ongoing email challenge and the fact that there are more and more email bounces every day they have decided to throw in the towel and ask us to move our list to other options.
After the first signs of the original ISP issues, I set up a Google Group for us to move to. I believe all you have to do is send an email to the list and it' should let you on - the new list email address is:

For those who are FaceBook inclined, I've also (just) created a FaceBook "CRPL" group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/521726402837083
I've never set up a FaceBook group, so bear with me as we march into this uncharted territory.
If anyone has any issues joining either of these options, please email me at: d...@linder.org Or reach out to me on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/daniel.linder/
I've checked the Google mailing list, it doesn't have much conversation as of late - I hope those of you who are still interested will make the move to one or both of the new locations.
Sadly, I still haven't got my '69 up to a condition where I would risk driving it on one of the long-distance Corvette caravans I have heard about. The now quite dusty Corvette still has its stall in my garage and a big place in my wife and kids hearts still dreaming we'll get it back on the road. I'm hoping you will be with me on these two CRPL list options when I finally get back on the road!
Save the Wave!
Your humble CRPL list admin,
DanL
Hey Mr. Linder - I’m Chris Huffman with the National Corvette Museum and I’m writing to you about the ListServ group that you currently manage on our server, listserv.corvettemuseum.org. The ListServ software is out of date and most email services will not accept emails from it anymore. As a result, we will be turning off this service soon. We’ve been working with several Clubs/Groups who have decided to switch to Facebook groups or Google Groups, which is a free option. Below is a link to some instructions for setting up a Google Group should you choose to go that route. Please let me know if you need any assistance with this transition. Thanks,
