FEATURE PROGRAMS
=================
LOR-1,070 - Feature: Sky Saxon and The Seeds, & Psychedelic side
dishes.
With The Seeds, The Blues Magoos, Count Five, The Leaves, The
Thirteenth Floor Elevators, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Chocolate
Watchband, and The Human Beinz. -- On the same day of the death of
Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett (June 25, 2009), the music world
also lost Sky Saxon (at age 71), lead singer of the seeds and early
pioneer of garage & psychedelic rock forms, and who later went on to a
solo career. While the seeds did have, in addition to "Pushin Too
Hard," two other songs that broke the Billboard top 100, I opted here
for a couple of others from their original 1966 album that I felt were
more true to their overall sound than the minor chart hits. They are
presented here with a complimentary collection of similar in-form
garage and psychedelic tunes, some hits, some not quite so high up, or
some that should have been hits.

LOR-AF-102 - Feature: The Jackson 5 Historical Chronology: 1st 11 hits
in order & with Chart Position:
With the untimely passing of Michael Jackson, we feature a short
chronology of songs - The Jackson Five's first 11 hits featuring
Michael & family from 1970 - 1972.

LOR-#1s - Feature: #1 Songs, March, Week 2, 1962-1969, KQV / WLS:
With Bruce Channel, The Four Seasons, The Beatles, Jewel Akens, Gerry
and The Pacemakers, The Mamas and The Papas, The Rolling Stones, The
Monkees, Tommy James and The Shondells and Tommy Roe.

LOR-#1s - Featured: #1 Songs, First Week of February, Part 1:
1961-1966:
With The Shirelles, The Capris, Gene Chandler, Gene Pitney, Paul and
Paula, The Beatles, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Petula Clark, and The
Righteous Brothers.

LOR-#1s - Featured: #1 Songs, First Week of February, Part 2:
1966-1969:
With Lou Christie, The Seekers, Sonny & Cher, The Monkees, Gary
Puckett & The Union Gap, Classics IV, Paul Mauriat, The Lemon Pipers,
The Doors, The Foundations, and Tommy James & The Shondells.

LOR-AF-101 - Feature: A Four Tops Partial Historical Chronology:
With the passing of Levi Stubbs, lead singer of the Four Tops, we
feature a short chronology of songs from their Motown chart
beginnings in 1964 through their peak years 1966-1968, and one from
their revival years in the 70's.

LOR-1,004 - Featured: 4th of July Special #1, In Search of America
From Coast To Coast:
With Simon and Garfunkle, Neil Diamond, The Hollies, John Denver, The
Beach Boys, The Rivieras and Bruce Springsteen.  4th of July Special
#1, In Search of America From Coast To Coast: Not quite the standard
set of 4th of July songs, there are a few of the obligatory standards
here, but we expand the concept to feature songs with reflections on
the U.S.A., and it's People, Places, and Things that make it a special
place in the world!
