With Joe Masulli, Dan Fogelberg, and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
... with great sadness, you will be missed! This set probably won't
satisfy many people's wish list for a Dan Fogelberg set, so be aware
that this is a very personal set with some of my own personal
favorites - some of the songs from Dan's first two albums that had the
biggest emotional impact for me. I started the set with Joe Masulli's
Silk and Steel because I remembered his note on the back of his CD
dedicating this song, respectfully, to Dan, and always remembered it
as a nice tribute to him. The songs that follow are some of Dan's
early songs that I felt touched me more on an emotional level, which
is why the more rock and roll songs from Souvenirs in particular
(which I also love) are not part of the mix. Finally, the combination
of "Song From Half Mountain" with "Giving It All To The Wind" by the
Ozark Mountain Daredevils has always been one of my favorite
combinations and segues, so much so that I always think of the other
song whichever one I hear. While "Giving It All To The Wind" was not
included for lyrical significance to the set, now that I listen to it
again, the sadness of the violin opening and the line: "have you ever
felt yourself in a place a little strange, where nothing seemed the
way it should be" now seems appropriate - it does not seem that the
world should yet be without Dan Fogelberg at this point in time. -

With Caufield, Chad Stites and Buckingham Nicks.
This is Caufield's 3rd album (read more about Caufield on our artist
page >>>), and each is a gem with its own special songs and merits.
Tom Caufield's songwriting and arranging just resonate with me, so its
tough for me to pick a favorite out of these great songs, I love them
all, but my current pick is the album opener "Falling Up." Four songs
from "Once Upon A Time In L.A." are featured in this set, along with
another one of my all-time favorites from Buckingham Nicks, combined
here because my first listen to the first Caufield album still reminds
me of the experience of hearing and playing to death the Buckingham
Nicks album back in 1974!

Not to be confused with the Celtic Woman "Group" that is appearing on
US PBS TV specials, this is the 3rd in the Celtic Woman Album series
on the Hearts O' Space label.
Feature Notes: Celtic Woman 3: Another solid offering with a stellar
lineup of Celtic Woman artists, this album focusing on songs with the
common theme "Ireland." This compilation contains tracks from well
established artists Mary Black, Maura O'Connell, Cathie Ryan, Dolores
Keane and Clannad that celtophiles may already own (see a complete
listing below), tracks from more recent albums by Emer Kenny, Eleanor
McEvoy, Anuna and Cherish The Ladies. The real value to those (mainly
in the US) who may have some or most of these other songs are the
inclusions of tracks by Skilda, Shedoa, and Kate Power & Steve
Einhorn.
The Skilda and Shedoa tracks are from albums that would be very
difficult to find in the US (they can be found by searching on
amazon.co.uk, or at sheoda.com and skilda.com). Shedoa's track is a
beautiful song sung by Margaret Brennan, and Skilda's track is also a
beautiful song, sung by Naia Wolf [who says her all time favorite
singer is Dolores Keane], which is not representative of the rest of
their "13 Dreams" album which is celtic rock/funk in nature!
The beautiful song by Kate Power & Steve Einhorn is from the album
"Now & Then" which is available on Amazon US [used only], though it
does not come up in a search for "Kate Power, " so search for "Now &
Then Power & Einhorn" to find it.
Essentially, "beuatiful song" sums up all of the offerings on the
album, you won't find any jigs and reels on this collection. A near
perfect collection if you love the Irish Song performed by the lush
voices of the top female vocalists featured here.

With Joe Masulli, Dan Fogelberg, and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
... with great sadness, you will be missed! This set probably won't
satisfy many people's wish list for a Dan Fogelberg set, so be aware
that this is a very personal set with some of my own personal
favorites - some of the songs from Dan's first two albums that had the
biggest emotional impact for me. I started the set with Joe Masulli's
Silk and Steel because I remembered his note on the back of his CD
dedicating this song, respectfully, to Dan, and always remembered it
as a nice tribute to him. The songs that follow are some of Dan's
early songs that I felt touched me more on an emotional level, which
is why the more rock and roll songs from Souvenirs in particular
(which I also love) are not part of the mix. Finally, the combination
of "Song From Half Mountain" with "Giving It All To The Wind" by the
Ozark Mountain Daredevils has always been one of my favorite
combinations and segues, so much so that I always think of the other
song whichever one I hear. While "Giving It All To The Wind" was not
included for lyrical significance to the set, now that I listen to it
again, the sadness of the violin opening and the line: "have you ever
felt yourself in a place a little strange, where nothing seemed the
way it should be" now seems appropriate - it does not seem that the
world should yet be without Dan Fogelberg at this point in time. -

With Caufield, Chad Stites and Buckingham Nicks.
This is Caufield's 3rd album (read more about Caufield on our artist
page >>>), and each is a gem with its own special songs and merits.
Tom Caufield's songwriting and arranging just resonate with me, so its
tough for me to pick a favorite out of these great songs, I love them
all, but my current pick is the album opener "Falling Up." Four songs
from "Once Upon A Time In L.A." are featured in this set, along with
another one of my all-time favorites from Buckingham Nicks, combined
here because my first listen to the first Caufield album still reminds
me of the experience of hearing and playing to death the Buckingham
Nicks album back in 1974!

Not to be confused with the Celtic Woman "Group" that is appearing on
US PBS TV specials, this is the 3rd in the Celtic Woman Album series
on the Hearts O' Space label.
Feature Notes: Celtic Woman 3: Another solid offering with a stellar
lineup of Celtic Woman artists, this album focusing on songs with the
common theme "Ireland." This compilation contains tracks from well
established artists Mary Black, Maura O'Connell, Cathie Ryan, Dolores
Keane and Clannad that celtophiles may already own (see a complete
listing below), tracks from more recent albums by Emer Kenny, Eleanor
McEvoy, Anuna and Cherish The Ladies. The real value to those (mainly
in the US) who may have some or most of these other songs are the
inclusions of tracks by Skilda, Shedoa, and Kate Power & Steve
Einhorn.
The Skilda and Shedoa tracks are from albums that would be very
difficult to find in the US (they can be found by searching on
amazon.co.uk, or at sheoda.com and skilda.com). Shedoa's track is a
beautiful song sung by Margaret Brennan, and Skilda's track is also a
beautiful song, sung by Naia Wolf [who says her all time favorite
singer is Dolores Keane], which is not representative of the rest of
their "13 Dreams" album which is celtic rock/funk in nature!
The beautiful song by Kate Power & Steve Einhorn is from the album
"Now & Then" which is available on Amazon US [used only], though it
does not come up in a search for "Kate Power, " so search for "Now &
Then Power & Einhorn" to find it.
Essentially, "beuatiful song" sums up all of the offerings on the
album, you won't find any jigs and reels on this collection. A near
perfect collection if you love the Irish Song performed by the lush
voices of the top female vocalists featured here.
