Scott Guthrie Scott Guthrie Executive Vice President, Cloud and Enterprise Group

As executive vice president of the Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise Group, Scott Guthrie is responsible for the company’s cloud infrastructure, server, database, CRM, ERP, management and development tools businesses. His engineering team builds Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, Active Directory, System Center, Visual Studio and .NET.

Prior to leading the Cloud and Enterprise Group, Guthrie helped lead Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s public cloud platform. Since joining the company in 1997, he has made critical contributions to many of Microsoft’s key cloud, server and development technologies and was one of the original founders of the .NET project. Guthrie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Duke University. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.

Brian Harry Brian Harry Corporate Vice President, Developer Platform Group

Brian Harry is a Microsoft corporate vice president and leads the developer services efforts at Microsoft, including Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio Online and MSDN. Brian has worked in developer platforms and tools for over 20 years and has a passion for development process and enabling teams of developers to be productive and create great software. Brian has experience organizing and leading teams of thousands of developers and works to share his learning from that experience through products and guidance delivered in Visual Studio.

Before joining Microsoft Brian worked in two startups - Da Vinci Systems (an early electronic mail company) and One Tree Software (developers of SourceSafe). One Tree Software was acquired by Microsoft in 1994.

Scott Hanselman Scott Hanselman Principal Community Architect, Web Platform and Tools

Scott Hanselman works for Microsoft as Principal Community Architect for Web Platform and Tools, aiming to spread the good word about developing software, most often on the Microsoft stack. Before this he was the Chief Architect at Corillian Corporation, now a part of Checkfree, for 6+ years and before that he was a Principal Consultant at STEP Technology for nearly 7 years. He will speak about computers (and other passions) whenever someone will listen to him. He's written in a few books, most recently with Bill Evjen and Devin Rader on Professional ASP.NET.

Anders Hejlsberg Anders Hejlsberg Technical Fellow, Developer Division

Anders Hjelsberg is a Technical Fellow in the Developer Division at Microsoft Corporation and works on Microsoft’s .NET and JavaScript development tools. He is the chief designer of the C# programming language and a key participant in the development of the .NET Framework. Previously, Anders was the architect for Visual J++ and the Windows Foundation Classes. Before joining Microsoft in 1996, Anders was a Principal Engineer at Borland International. As one of the first employees of Borland, he was the original author of Turbo Pascal and later worked as the Chief Architect of the Delphi product line. Anders studied Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark.

Kevin Gallo Kevin Gallo Corporate Vice President, Windows Developer Platform

Kevin has been with Microsoft for more than 20 years, during which time he has held a variety of technical and program management roles oriented primarily around developer tools and platforms. Kevin is currently responsible for designing and shipping the platform components through which developers build meaningful apps and services on top of the Windows family of devices. This includes contributing to developer features of the operating systems and Store experiences as well as delivering the tools and SDKs for creating amazing apps and games Kevin holds a BE from Carnegie Mellon University in Computer Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, hiking, and boating with his family.

Amanda Silver Amanda Silver Director of Program Management, Visual Studio Client Application Tools

Amanda Silver is the Director of Program Management for Tools for Client Applications in Visual Studio. She was one of the primary designers for the Visual Basic .NET language from 2001 – 2008 and one of the key inventors on the LINQ project (Language INtegrated Query) which incorporates SQL-style query expressions and XML as a first-class data type into the .NET languages. During her tenure at Microsoft she has worked on the developer platform for Microsoft for everything from Office to Xbox to IoT and Hololens. She now leads the team that works on tools for building client applications spanning Windows, Xbox, Microsoft’s Edge Browser, web client developer tools like TypeScript, and cross-platform mobile tools like Apache Cordova.

Erich Gamma Erich Gamma Distinguished Engineer, Developer Division

Erich Gamma is a Microsoft Distinguished Engineer and leads the Visual Studio Code project. He and his team work out of a small development lab in Zurich. Previously he worked for IBM and he was one of the originators of Eclipse and led the Eclipse Java development tools. Erich is also a member of the Gang of Four, which is known for their classic book, “Design Patterns - Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software.” Erich has collaborated with Kent Beck on developing JUnit, the de facto standard testing tool for Java software.

Donovan Brown Donovan Brown Senior Program Manager, Developer Division DevOps

Donovan Brown is a Senior Program Manager for DevOps in the Developer Division at Microsoft, focusing on developer tools including Visual Studio Online and Team Foundation Server. Before joining Microsoft, Donovan spent seven years as a Process Consultant and a Certified Scrum Master. Donovan has traveled the globe helping companies in the U.S., Canada, India, Germany, and the UK develop solutions using agile practices, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server in industries including Communications, Health Care, Energy, and Financial Services. He is also an avid programmer, often finding ways to integrate software into his other hobbies and activities.
