to Common Table Church
In the three year cycle of the Lectionary, we once again come to the divine imprimatur for grilling-- the passage where the resurrected Jesus cooks fish over a charcoal fire (which, we should say, is what anyone who had been dead for several days would do...). Jesus was a griller! Not gas, but CHARCOAL!! It's right there in Gospel black-and-white! Go thou and do likewise. So we will of course keep an eye on the weather, but I'd say there is a good chance of flavor this Sunday morning at Common Table. Join us at 10:15 at Good Shepherd UMC. Hope to see you there! --Mike Stavlund PS. If you'd like to be more like Jesus, we have an even better opportunity next weekend. On Saturday, May 11 Common Table will be charcoal cooking sandwiches for about 300 Good Shepherd Car Show attendees. We'd love to have your help, whatever your level of experience. It's a kind of learning party; a fantastic way to raise your grill skilz while having fun and eating some delicious food all at the same time. We'll light the grills at about 9am.
