There is a problem with the CF.networkSSID variable in iViewer 4.1.393 (iViewer Next), it comes empty/blank. This variable is important to automatically change the systems IP address when the app is outside its own SSID.

Thanks for the report! Seems there's another credential that apps need to enable now since iOS12 to be able to access WiFi info.
Fixed this, will submit a new build later today.

After upgrading to iOS 13, the CF.network SSID variable always displays the value "Wi-Fi" instead of the correct network name.

Tested on:
iViewer 4 V4.0.360 build 360.1
iViewer 5 V5.0.7 build 409
iViewer Next V4.1.398

iOS 13 only allows access to this info after you have allowed location services for the app (or if the app is specifically a VPN app or a hotspot app - which Apple will not approve for iViewer).
iViewer 4 will no longer be able to access this info.
iViewer 5 you simply need to hit "allow" on the location popup, or enable location in settings if you previously clicked deny.

Thank you, Jarrod!
iViewer 5 and Next never showed the popup and also do not appear in the location settings. To be sure, I reinstalled both.

Jarrod,
a home automation app like iViewer should have access to location services, for solutions like geofence and beacon.

I and Rodrigo were able to activate the location service in iViewer 4 and 5 in iOS13, but only after using a script with CF.LocationSensor http://www.commandfusion.com/docs/scripting/sensors.html#location . The problem here is that the process is manual, iOS13 never asked us to authorize location. With iViewer 4 it is worst, if you find in setting the option "ask" marked, you will never see the other options, until you mark "never" and next time you go to settings you will have other options: "always" and "during use" (don't know exactly words in English)

Please, think a way for iViewer automatically ask for location or we cannot use the variable CF.network SSID

I kindly ask you to think about iViewer 4 also. I know CF team considers iv4 a legacy product but we have a bunch of customers that the app was working in iOS12 and will not work in iOS13.

Thanks
Túlio

Jarrod,
as Túlio said, the location settings appear only after using the script.

Please kindly look at the iViewer 4. Losing this feature will bring us some headaches.

I'm sure migrate to iViewer 5 or LaunchPad will be needed, but consider doing it in a less painful way to the customers.

Thanks,
Rodrigo

Jarrod,
we found a simple workaround to enable location in iViewer 4 and 5 on iOS13.

We will instruct our customers to download this special project: j.mp/cf_location that allows to enable location and consequently the CF.networkSSID variable .

After this procedure the customer can download again his project and remote access will work again.

Sorry to bother you with this issue, I think with this workaround we won't have too much trouble with our customers.

regards,
Túlio

Can you try the latest iViewer 5 release and see if that helps without having to perform your work around?

Works fine!
iViewer Next will do the same?
Another doubt! iViewer 5 Next will come back?

Yes iViewer 5 Next will be updated later.
We are skipping it for now since iViewer 5 is so new.
