In ArrayForth documentation one sees references to running ColorForth natively, without starting into Windows OS first.
Is that still supported? If I create a bootable disk, what do I put on the boot sector? If I put OkadWork.cf from http://www.greenarraychips.com/home/support/code/setup-af-EVB001-01e.exe package, will I be able to boot straight into ColorForth?

Greg,

Thanks for asking!  No one has said anything here since 27Aug14, so I can't really say how much help you will get regarding booting the latest af-EVB001-01e natively. I’m not sure if anyone is doing that anymore, but it has always been extremely hardware dependent. It might handle booting from a USB stick, which was the last I had heard about what Chuck was using after his floppy drive laptop died at a Forth Day some years back. There was a QEMU variant many years ago, but it required a different kernel than what ever was produced by Green Arrays.

I do have a listing of the kernel, actually, a tool that can de-assemble any cf file, although, it gets broken on new versions frequently.

Good luck, and let us know how you are doing. 😉
