Is there a way to change the 115200 baud rate of the RoboSight serial command port. Its way to fast for my Basic Stamp MPU.

Gary,

We made an early-on design decision that all RoboSight serially connected master controllers could handle 115200. Looks like we got this wrong. The current RoboSight baud rate cannot be changed. However this is not a limitation of the hardware. So we'll make the changes to the firmware in version 1.1.1. Will baud rate settings of 9600, 19200, 38400, and 115200 suffice?

Yes, 9600 is what will work for me and most other hobby MPUs.

It was my understanding that the RoboSight firmware for the Basic board and the HID board was available to customers to customize, compile, and load via the bootloader to the RoboSight PIC and still retain the bootloader. If this is true, What PIC IDE do you recommend. Also, I posted this question on the RoboSight Forum, but did not get any replies. Is this forum active, or should I post this way?

Gary,

I'm working on getting a clean set of tarfiles  for the RoboSight SDK, which includes the firmware. I'll post to the RS forum tonight where to find the source.

All of our firmware projects use the CCS tool chain to build the PIC images. CCS project files are included in the source (but not the IDE).

There is a built-in bootloader loaded on  your basic. All you need to create a new image is to down the Intel hex file. See the Bootloader Appendix in the RS User Manual for setup.

The forum did not have notifications turned on so we missed your post. We'll fix that today so RNIS will be notified of any posts there.
