On March 18 in Reston, Va, the Big Data Working Group of the Cloud Standards Customer Council (CSCC) will host a Conference on "Big Data in the Cloud". The focus will be on the future use of Cloud-based Big Data solutions in domains such as Government, Healthcare, and Finance. The presenters will be leaders in the development, evaluation, and deployment of Big Data applications and tools at a similar level to the 2012 CSCC Government Cloud Conference. The goal of the 2013 Conference is to help end-user organizations understand the current status of the technology and plan future Cloud-based Big Data initiatives.
George Strawn (Director of the NITRD National Coordination Office) will give an opening Keynote on Federal Big Data R&D Initiatives . Ashit Talukder (Chief of NIST's Information Access Division) will discuss NIST's Big Data and Cloud perspective and future activities. Major vendors of Big Data tools will describe their current offerings and future directions. Industry organizations will report on their evaluation of Big Data projects, technology, best practices, standardizations, and policies. See the Agenda for more details and registration.
