I love clipperz. I live in it. And I promote it whenever the opportunity arises.

Two items on my wish list:

1. Export a single record or small group of records. CSV or some other standard format so that I could import those selected records into a new file.

2. Some way to indicate when the record was last changed. I do that manually with a "lastmod" field. Can you save a step by including that possible feature as a default part of each record?

Hello Michael,

thank you very much for your feedback and praises.

Regarding your suggestions:

1. We are considering adding a “share a card” option to our application, and integrate it with our sharing feature available on our website (
https://clipperz.is/share/), with a matching feature to add the shared card to your account.

We have a JSON export (embedded in the HTML one, but it is relatively easy to extract just the JSON part), as card structure flexibility does not play well with CSV fixed columns.
You would have to handle the transcription of the JSON data into CSV yourself.

About selecting just a few cards for the export, we have approached the problem from the other direction, as we allow you to select –from all cards available in an import “file”– just the one you are interested in.

2. We are already collecting this information (see latest modified card list in the left panel, above search field), but we never managed to find a good/effective way to render it.
It is one of the many trade-offs we had to address, where we left something out trying to achieve a more solid overall result. Over time some of the solutions adopted had changed as we identified alternative approaches; so we may (or may not) come up with a way to achieve what you are asking. 😅

Cheers,

Giulio Cesare
