This groups is intended to be a place where you can come to discuss
training ideas, find help for problems, report our successes, get
support when things dont go so well, and just have fun talking about
our wonderful dogs in this wonderful sport!
Let me introduce myself:
I am a 16 (almost 17) year old junior in high school, i have been
clicker training for about 4 years, and love it. It is one of the best
ways i have found to teach a dog something. Speaking of dogs, heres
some info about my pack:
Buddy- is a 5 year old Aussie, Border Collie Mix that i got for the
humane society when he was about a year old. He is the dog who has
been with me the longest, and is the greatest dog i know! We dont get
to do as much showing as i would like (we just dont have the time) as
we only get to about one or two shows a year, but we do well when we
get there. We show in USDAA agility Junior Handlers and we are at the
Intermediate level.
Sidney- is a two year old chocolate lab who i rasied as a puppy to be a
service dog, but due to things beyond my control, she was dropped out.
So now she is home with me and I couldnt be happier. We went to our
first show last summer, and only had five faults. I concidered this to
be amazing because she had never seen a real pause table before, and
what do you know thats where we had trouble (she jumped off to see the
judge!) She is very motivated (she thinks she is a Border collie) and
has the potential to be very fast.
Gina Lou- is an almost 2 year old Border Collie, Papillion Mix. She is
absolutely crazy, and loves to do her agility. She is also very fast
even though she is only 20 pounds and 17 inches tall! Her favortie
trick is jumping into my arms while i am standing up.
Mandy- is a 10 month old chocolate lab mixed with maybe a Vizsla puppy
that I am raising to be a service dog. She is the only one of the
bunch that has not reall agility taining (she is too young) but she
does do the tunnels, a small A-Frame, and short jumps.
So that is my crew, I look forward to this group becoming active, and
sharing my knowledge and learning for others. thats waht so great about
this sport, you can always learn something new.
