Hi All,

I'm working in a clearcase environment. And am supporting the setup of
a buildfarm with 5 SUN Sparc - Solaris machines. We are using the
parallel build facility offered by cmake to make the build.

But we get a no. of inconsisten errors - eg-
clearmake: Error: abe(1, pid=24914, "andd014") failed while attempting
to build "/vobs/esam/objects/eblt-c/ghs42IXP2400_fl/vobs/esam/build/
eblt-c/flashwrite/step1" with error 1001

and..
clearmake: Error: Unable to resolve target pathname "/vobs/esam/....."
- I/O error
clearmake: Error: Unable to check existence of "/vobs/esam/
objects/...." to apply suffix rule
clearmake: Error: Unable to access "/vobs/esam/objects/....": I/O
error.
clearmake: Error: Unable to get VOB information for target candidate "/
vobs/esam/objects/...." - I/O error

Please note that the these errors are very variant. Sometimes they
don't occur. Sometimes they do.

Does anyone have a clue regarding what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Dijo

Your network.
Timeouts?
Traceroute between your various hosts.
Check that there are no distant users, who could
create locks in serialization, for the time of long
round-trips: ct lsclient, and again traceroute.
But you should have clues in the logs.
