Dear Friends,
I am writing to thank all of you who helped to make the third edition of the Symposium so very successful.
I would also like to inform those who are not already aware of it that in the fringes of the Symposium Prof. Anzai (Hokkaido University) proposed to set up a Classics conference in East Asia, to rotate between Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. His proposal was very warmly received by the other Classicists present, especially Prof. Ahn (Seoul National University) who proposed he sets up a preliminary meeting next year in Seoul to work out further details.
It feels so very nice that while elsewhere in the world Classics departments are closing down, we are associated with growth (a small one, but growth, not decline).
Finally, those of you who are looking for further publication opportunities, you may want to know that in Korea they have a Classics journal that 2 of its 4 annual issues are in English.
Vassilis
