Dear Friends,
I am writing to announce the 214 Workshop. As you know we try in the workshop to follow the thematology of the European Languages Symposium, so this year out theme is: Crisis, Lessons for European Antiquity. You can find attached the poster of the workshop, and of course you can feel free to re-distribute anywhere you think appropriate.
In comparison with previous years, there is a change this year in that we are trying to abandon the "lecture-conference" format we followed in the past and to move in a real "workshop". So the leaders of the Workshop sections will present a number of texts relevant to their topic and then we will divide into groups to analyze and discuss the texts, finally we will get altogether again to share our understandings and views.
For the time being we have the following leaders and topics confirmed:
Taida, Ichiro "Homer and Crisis"
Vagios, Vassilis "Oratory and Crisis"
Yang, Chi-Her "Lying and Decline"
If anyone else would like to lead a section, please send your proposal before Oct 7 to vva...@ntu.edu.tw
