FYI,
Longview, TX News-Journal photographer Les Hassell spent a recent night documenting the cicada nymphs in his backyard. With a flashlight in one hand and a camera in the other, he captured the cicadas' metamorphoses as they shed their skin and left the brown shells behind. A video of the transformations can be found here.
