This Thursday night February 5th we will be holding our irregular Chulent events.
9:30 PM ZOOM
Our continuing Zoom series of discussions with Holocaust survivors.
Susan Kalev was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. Her mother and Susan were the only ones to survive the Holocaust. During the 1956 uprising in Hungary against the Communist regime the family fled Hungary and settled in the US. Susan grew up in NYC. When she turned 21 she visited Israel, stayed for 6 years, got her degree in social work and married.
The unspoken intergenerational trauma had greatly shaped Susan's decision to become a clinical social worker helping others to overcome separation, loss and illness.
She also became an animal rights activist to give voice to animal suffering.
Susan has 2 daughters and one granddaughter. She presents talks on Holocaust history to keep her mother's legacy alive.
