The Science of Second Language Acquisition and the Judeo-languages

Stephen Krashen, is the founder of a branch of linguistics called SLA (Second Language Acquisition). In this shiur, we will discuss Dr. Krashen’s findings and how they are relevant to the way Hebrew and Yiddish are taught. The shiur will conclude with an interactive demonstration of the TPRS method.

Andrew Kushner teaches English as a Second Language at PS238 The Anne Sullivan School in Midwood. Andrew uses a method of language teaching called TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). He is proficient in Chinese, Russian, and Spanish, and is working on his Hebrew. If he’s lucky, perhaps he can learn Yiddish from you.
