Please all you current or lapsed users of SOHO make sure you back up
your Mac Address Book on a regular basis. I'm on SOHO 5.7.2 ( no I'm
not paying for the latest upgrade ) and pretty much don't use SOHO any
more. I just keep Address Book up to date and hang on in for
Nighthawk.

Today for no reason at all I find that SOHO has wiped out all the
phone number, email details, web addresses and contact addresses for
every single contact card in my Address Book ( nearly 1700 ).

I only noticed it as my emails were no longer auto-filling the address
when I started to type commonly used contacts.

This has happened to me 3-4 times before over the last year. There is
never any particluar reason for it and I hadn't even used SOHO today.
SOHO just sits there, decides to dump a whole load of important
information and then strips it out of your Address Book for good
measure.

Luckily I had backed up Adddress Book and could revert to the back-up
but that back-up was 3 weeks ago so I've still lost some recent stuff.
Never have I owned such a destructive piece of software as SOHO.

Hi JR,
If you want to use a good program that implimented Sync Services correctly switch to Daylite and the DMI add on.

MC has released over twenty betas, they are coming down the home stretch.

Having said that, any beta version of DL is better than SOHO

Just a precaution/warning (as JR and Rob & Tammy know), SOHO and
Daylite are built using the same Openbase database app, albeit
different versions at different times, with this proven to be a
significant problem, the details of which I have long thrown out of my
brain.

Speaking of Brains, it is a shame SOHO messed up StickyBrain, now SOHO
Notes, as it earlier iterations were well done, but now I have no
faith in SOHO anything.

Daylite's business model and interface leaves me wanting. I too wait
to see what NightHawk and Leopard bring, hoping for much better days
ahead.

Hi everyone,
DayLite v3.5 with Sync Services has been released today.

jR,
You should demo dl and the ski add in. It will change the way you work.

Just remember to uninstall all Chronos products first or you will have problems with openbase.

Of course, backup ab & Ical first.

As I said yesterday, there were 20 or so betas, so the kinks are pretty well worked out.

Let's us know how you make out

Thanks for the update Rob & Tammy. Daylite did not used to have 2 way
round trip syncing, is that now available, ie an update in either
application updates the other automatically ?
