JR says:
"This group has almost died, some would say like the progress at
Chronos.
Anyone any update on the promised calendar views in SOHO?"

JR I keep an eye on them occasionally but the last news worthy update
was an award for SB4 which I've never been able to substantiate.

Feb 9th was the last Calendar release so I guess things are still
moving much slower than they lead users to believe.

Oops add a March 7th beta release of Calendar 5.1. I guess they are
listening to the beta advice, though are still slow moving, as not even
a minor update to the beta in over 6 weeks. Maybe they are going to
jump from beta 1 to gold again.

Good golly; I best watch my tongue. On 3/22 they released beta 2. So
it's been a month.

well, it was promised no later than 03/31, and they missed that. Surprise! Then, we were supposed to have another Beta release last week (a no show). That release date was slipped to this week.
When no Beta was released yesterday, I asked if we should expect one this weekend. Guess there must be some secert Apple event going on because the boards do not have any Chronos employee activity since Thursday. To me, this is like January all over again.
So, I offically gave up. Everything is in Daylite now, version 3 is better than advertised. I have moved everything from Notes into Devonthink. DT is so powerful, a bit of a learning curve, but lots of power.
For me, the change is bittersweet, as PO was such agreat product. SOHO has come a long way, but for me, it's still not a finished product.
DB, I think you were correct when you said I believe to much in what might be. But, here is what I see. In DL, there is a product that is continually evolving' with an active community. MC, is very active in that community. They release their products in Beta and follow-up on problems (I know this from the groups as well as personal experience). DT has been bulletproof so far, but many of the same postive things can be said for them as well.
Chronos just doesn't seem to get the whole communication thing. SOHO might someday become the greatest app. 5.1 Beta 2 is great, Ilve had no problems and the lojng promised converter worked great.
However, I have to deal with the here in now.
I feel like I just left an old friend, almost like when I went off to college. I have to live in the here and now, not waiting for what might be

So is there anything that could be done in PO that DL can't do?

(I'm still in PO and still evaluating and waiting til I have enough
time to learn & implement a new PIM.)

Karen,
I found found that Dl does everything that PO did and more. However,
the program is more powerful.

I would suggest joining all the mail lists (links below) and
following until you are ready to try.

Than, I would download the DL Productivity Suite, it contains both DL
as well as DMI, which integrates Apple Mail messages right into DL.
it's wonderful.

I found that printing the manual and quickly reading it, along with
the movies that Marketcircle has on the website are great teachers.

Please let me know if have any questions. Please know that there are
alternatives out there.

There's at least one thing that PO has which neither Daylite nor any other calendar program has. It allows images to be pasted into the activity window. If I'm going to a meeting or conference I can get screenshots of my train timetable, hotel booking, conference program or anything else and paste them all in under the event. I find that extraordinarily useful - and as far as I can see no program other than PO does it...

Wouldn't attachments/linked files serve the same purpose?

No, because I transfer my data file from office to home every
evening, and the links would break.

Anyway, I find it easier to highlight the bit of info I need on a web
page, do a cmd-ctrl-shift-4 to put a screenshot into the clipboard
and paste into my calendar than download a whole file, move it to an
appropriate location, then link to the calendar entry...

If I found any other PIM that did this, I'd be seriously tempted, but
so far its just ancient old PO that rings this particular bell!

Well if SOHO worked, it would do what you want (in Notes). But I can't
say that it works. Daylite doesn't offer this??

Afraid not. Seems unique to PO...
