I'm not just testing the water for SOHO Organizer, I have SB4, SOHO LE,
SOHO Business Cards, F10 and Personal Organizer.

I liked and used PO everyday until it became incompatible with current
products and OS. I was very anxiously awaiting SOHO Organizer. I
expected a lot because in the past you delivered a lot, no other way to
state it.

Your release of SOHO Organizer and then a little backpeddling startled
me. It took a short while but you opened up a line of communication via
the forums and I appreciate the stance.

I use with great dependency a calendaring and task management system.
I work a day job so to speak and my wife and I are building a small
business to replace the career and retire. Well managed appointments
and tasks are crucial. I use a Treo 650 with my Powerbook and Missing
Sync. I was hoping to use your products because in the past they have
been feature and benefit rich and very usable. SOHO Organizer was a
very anticipated release in part due to your communication and setting
of expectations, but I think we were a little zealous too. It was a
shock to see the released software, completely out of character for you
guys.

Another out of character scenario was that you made your problem (the
rewrite of the base code) our problem. Worse yet you did this without
level setting the expectations of your customers. I personally have
taken this as a betrayal of trust, others are less affected by it. I
began to wait to see other's response to your released products before
I even considered them.

What do I do now for event and task management? I'm testing 2 other
competitors products for Treo compatibility.

I would love to hear your or someone else's answer to run PO or SOHO
Organizer on a new Powerbook, .Mac and a Treo 650 within the realm of
reasonable usability. I'm a single user as well.

Thanks,

Mike,
Do you know "they" might not get your message here (but maybe they
will). I will email them the thread link. So what 2 other products are
you looking at??

And Chronos' answer is that there too busy answering all of the posts
about their inadequate and bug-ridden product to work on the converter.
Gag me with a spoon! With all of the $$$ they've made from StickyBrain,
they can't hire an extra body or two and let the programmers program?
Like the OP, I have a bunch of their products. I kept hoping and hoping
and hoping. I have now officially given up on Chronos. Even if they
come out with a great, functional version of SOHO Organizer (yeah,
right) they have shown me that this is NOT a company I can, in good
conscience, do business with.
The sad part is that I realize every day what a great product Personal
Organizer is/was. I was experimenting with a pre-release of
PackOrganizer the developer sent me. It rearranged many of my
categories and dumped ones it couldn't resolve into Unfiled. No way to
fix a group of them in PackOrganizer or my Palm, so I synched with
Personal Organizer, went to List View, chose a category at a time and
reset them from the Special menu, then synched back to the Palm. If
only they'd just rewrite it to Cocoa. I'd even be willing to live
without the iCal/AB integration if need be. But no, they have their
vision.

I posted here in its entirety to see if it gets dropped or altered on
Chronos site

I just posted the above on Chronos - let's see what happens - cross
post to macpims as well

Jerry,
I found encountered this problem as well. It has caused both my wife &
I to many a time dial a fax number instead of a phone number because
the correct order does not carry across to Contacts.

An additional problem that I have repeatedly found is what Contacts
does with the labels of people.

Let me give an example of both:

Phone number order is Address book is defined in the Preferences on my
machine as:

- Home Phone
- Mobile Phone
- Work Phone
- Home fax
- Work fax

This order is not carried over correctly to Contacts. The only way I
have found to get the information in the correct order in to manually
edit each contact. However, my address list is now over 1,400 people
and growing rapidly. You can see a card by card edit is impossible –
I gave up after about 300 or so.

Another problem that I have noticed and not yet seen documented in the
forums is what Contacts does with names. (Emphasis added due to the
length of the post and I did not what you to miss it) 

To further the above example I have my AB template to read:

- Father
- Mother
- Child
- Child
- Child
- Child
- Child
- Brother
- Brother
- Sister
- Sister

In the above example, if I have a record, it will bring over the
correct names from AB, but Contacts will change the label to something
strange. Like Mo$her for Mother or O$ther instead of Child. Please
don’t take those labels as gospel because I am out of the office
today and working on a windoz machine, so I can’t give you the exact
description.

To compound the problem, Contacts sends this label change back to AB
– thereby doubling the problem.

Not sure how my major financial program handles this (I will try to
adhere to the forum guidelines and not quote their name). I have the
Pro 2006 version with sync enabled in that app as well. That financial
app does not have problems receiving / sending the correct information.
I mention this only because it may / may not have an impact on the
above.

Rob,

I suspect they will be backing off the deletion action now that they
know we have their number.

For others, here's Rob's thread (still no response):

Simply put, they are unwilling to answer or unable to answer. Either
way they have painted us all in a corner if we are to do our day to day
work and use Chronos apps.
