An eRumor is a forwarded email that you receive from a friend. It is
usually some sort of news that tears at the heart strings or is
shocking. I receive these forwarded emails about some hard luck story,
or a "missing child" report, or sometimes a claimed mis-spoken word by
some politician.

When you get these forwarded mail messages, there is a very good chance
that they are not true. How can you tell? Well, some of them are
newsworthy enough that they would be all over CNN. If it isn't being
reported by reputable news agencies, it probably is just someone trying
to see how many people they can fool. If it isn't that kind of news
story, then there is a website that I was pointed to called
truthorfiction.com where you can find out if a forwarded eRumor is just
that, a hoax.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Good morning, everyone! Thought I'd put my two cents into this; I use
Urban Legends Reference (http://www.snopes.com/).
God Bless!
