"and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray
and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear
from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  -2

Hi All!

I've been thinking about everything that has happened over the last several weeks - the elections, the money crisis, etc., and I firmly believe that God is giving us a wake-up call as Christians. I also believe that much of this financial crisis is an answer to prayer. When the bottom falls out the only place to look is up. If Christians look at this recession, and perhaps even depression depending on who is elected president, as a time to re-prioritize, we will see that God is calling us to righteous living. Do we really need all the "toys" that we have? Do our children really need all the electronic gadgets that they have? What is really important? A large bank account? A large 401K plan? or A healthy family that loves each other and the Lord and is seeking to serve in all we do? Christians need to realize that this time ahead of us is going to be difficult (similar to the 70s) but God has allowed us a reprieve so that we can look to Him for our needs rather than relying on ourselves or our government or even the Church.

Nicolle,

This is an awesome post. I agree that these problems in the nation are
an answer to prayer. Someone might ask, how can a recession ever be an
answer to prayer? Well Christian are most powerful when they are on
their knees. We Christian have for too long taken the back seat and
let others set the agenda on our cultural standards, and even in
determining what is right and wrong. I hope that we do wake up and
engage in this battle that we are in and don't even realize.

Nicolle, you are absolutely right, it is time to reprioritize, and get
back to the basics. What is turely important? what are our
convictions? what do we consider to sacred? Jesus said in Luke 12:34
said "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
