The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice, starring Martin Howells and Helen Moran is back in Christchurch by popular demand after a successful southern tour, to offer local audiences some sparkling pre-Christmas cheer! Playing December 11 – 15 at NASDA Theatre CPIT, this is a perfect end of year night out! Laughter is guaranteed.
Henry and Alice’s lives have become a bit humdrum but their fantasy lives are certainly not! Little do they realise that their secret desires are on a collision course! This show is the first time the actors who are a married couple have played opposite each other, lending an intimate and genuine quality to their representation of Henry & Alice’s marriage, which journeys from hilarious bickering and disappointment to the merging of egocentric and sometimes outrageous hopes and dreams.
Martin Howells: “I think there’s a bit of Henry & Alice in every well worn marriage. As for the similarities to our own marriage, well… my lips are sealed. Suffice to say that during rehearsals we’ve laughed a lot. And, like Henry & Alice, remembered why we got married in the first place.”
There’s a special show and meal deal in association with the Monday Room on Wednesday and Sunday.
