The Mystery of the Twelve Dancing Princesses
Hiphopping princes, a clever soldier, a mad queen and twelve secretive princesses! Get off that xbox and come see some real entertainment! This school holidays, enter the magical world of a prince’s quest when you come to The Mystery of the Twelve Dancing Princesses! Follow the brave soldier as he tries to solve the mystery of the King’s troublesome daughters. This school holiday treat will be enchanting audiences at the Elmwood Theatre from July 16-27.
A modern adaptation of the classic Grimm’s fairytale, the show retains all of its original magic. It will delight children and adults with adventure, comedy and mayhem as the true mischief of the princesses unravels. To solve the mystery the audience will need to watch out for witches, poisonous concoctions and crocodiles!
As with all of Imagine Youth Theatre shows, the actors are a unique mix of professional adults and children who auditioned from schools all over Christchurch.
IMAGINE is a long running producer of children’s theatre. You might have enjoyed IMAGINE Youth Theatre’s production of SNOW WHITE and the Seven Dwarfs in January, or LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD – the untold Story last Kidsfest.

Rosanna Hewson, known from NZ's Got Talent, in her final year at NASDA plays Elise, the eldest enchanted princess, Tom Hart the Soldier, Julian Anderson and David Allen the flamboyant King, Helen Moran the magical old wise woman and 51 local talented children and teenagers the princes and the princesses!
