I am a PhD student in Social/Cultural Anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley, with dissertation research focusing on the activities of Chinese migrant business owners in Angola and their impact on local communities. As I prepare for a fieldwork trip to Luanda this coming Summer, I would like to connect with social science researchers at local universities (both students and faculty) who are interested in the cultural politics of migration, entrepreneurialism, and labor. Additional contacts with those specializing in Chinese economic engagement with Angola would also be much appreciated.
