Last Sunday, officers of the Northwestern University Police
Department, in direct violation of Evanston City Council policy,
stopped Ramiro Sanchez-Zepeda, a young undocumented worker, on
"suspicion" of drunk driving, reported him to ICE authorities and
held him overnight before sending him to Kenosha County Jail to await
deportation hearings.
This is unacceptable. We will not allow our tuition dollars to pay
for cops to pursue our fellow brothers and sisters on the streets of
Evanston. Join us on Monday, May 4th at 4:00pm to tell Northwestern
and Northwestern Police: "No Human Being is Illegal! We Are All
Ramiro Sanchez-Zepeda!"
