Now less than a week away!

Socialism 2009: Building a New Left for a New Era

A weekend of revolutionary politics, debate, and entertainment.

www.socialismconference.org

June 18-21

Chicago, IL

Wyndham O'Hare Hotel (Near O'Hare airport)

Seven months after Barack Obama won support by raising expectations among immigrants and their supporters nationwide for a reversal of the policies that have led to a virtual war on the undocumented population in the U.S., not much has changed for the millions of people living in hiding or fear of deportation. Though this hasn’t stopped the immigrants rights movement, as was seen by mass demonstrations on May Day, we need to keep up the fight in full force in order to win. June 18-21 join local, national, and international activists for a weekend of revolutionary politics and discussion that will feature talks such as:

Immigrants and Labor Struggles- Orlando Sepulveda, Margarita Klein and Martin Unzueta

The Future of Immigration Reform- Bridget Broderick, Jorge Mújica

Washington’s “Back Yard”: A History of U.S. Imperialism in Latin America- Bill Linville

Mexico in Crisis- Dan La Botz

Let’s join together to figure out how best to progress this movement. Yes we can win immigrant rights and legalization of the undocumented! ¡Sí se puede!
