As many of you know, following a military coup d'etat in Honduras led by U.S.-trained generals infamous for participation in the famous death squads in the 80's, there is a climate of intense repression but also incredible resistance in Honduras. Having spent a lot of time working in Honduras with many of the people now at the lead of the resistance in the streets, I have been deeply concerned about this on a personal and political level and am asking for your support.
We are throwing a
fundraiser concert featuring Rebel Diaz, Cali, DJ Wrek and others this Saturday starting at 9pm at Q4 - 2716 W. North Ave. It's 21 and up and we're asking a $10 donation at the door, all proceeds go straight to four groups in particular - the Civil Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras / COPINH, the National Black Fraternal Organization of Honudras / OFRANEH, the National Committee of Rural Workers / CNTC and Via Campesina).
