Está usted invitado a la presentación de “Una Injusticia Olvidada”. La admisión es gratuita. El documental está oficialmente seleccionado para el Festival de Cine Latino de Chicago 2009, y ha inspirado la propuesta de una ley en el Congreso de Illinois para incluir la deportación de los México-Americanos durante la Gran Depresión parte de las clases de historia de todas las escuelas públicas K-12 en Illinois.

En los años 1930’s, más de un millón de ciudadanos de Estados Unidos y residentes legales fueron deportados (en violación a la Constitución), de Estados Unidos a México por una simple razón: ser de ascendencia mexicana.

Vicente Serrano realizó una investigación de 5 años en Estados Unidos y México para encontrar a los sobrevivientes de esta deportación ilegal. Algunos aún viven en áreas rurales pobres de México. Los que quedan, demandan una disculpa.

Ahora que el debate migratorio divide al país, y que se nos dice que estamos en la peor crisis económica desde la Gran Depresión, necesitamos aprender de “Una Injusticia Olvidada”.

In the 1930s more than a million US citizens and Legal Residents were unconstitutionally deported from the United States to Mexico for one simple reason: They were of Mexican descent.
Vicente Serrano launched a 5 year-investigation in the US and Mexico to find the survivors of the illegal deportations. Some of them are still leaving in extreme poverty in rural areas in Mexico. The ones that returned want an apology.
Now that the immigration debate is dividing our country and we are told that we are suffering the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression we need to learn from "A Forgotten Injustice".
