Hola Compañe@s!

As the 2010 census is approaching, it seems to be some debate about collaborate or not in it.
For what i am hearing, many, even from the faith communities, are arguing that the census will only map out where to increase ICE activity and some target local enforcement collaboration programs.

Others argue that the census will draw a picture of the massive numbers of our community and therefore will be a tool to demand more social services, attention to the need of immigration reforms etc etc. Even some say that if the numbers are smaller than the estimated would be a "proof" that current anti immigrant policies are helping to address the immigration outbreak in US and policies should not change.

The relevance of this matter for my organization is to define our program and slogan towards this question: should we open the door and collaborate when the census people  knock at my door?

Any ideas, programs, experiences or campaign about this in other areas would help us a lot to form our own opinion.
