Got home Sunday afternoon. Got the van unloaded, did a couple loads of laundry, ate dinner and passed out. Woke up Monday and went back to the job.

Monday after TWALD has been the worst work day of the year since I started doing this thing. This year was even worse. With the end of my career in sight I've been having a really hard time going in and I'm really not going to miss the place.

Anyway.

We've had colder TWALDs so this wasn't too bad. Cold enough that you don't mind gearing up but not so cold that you couldn't beat it with a few layers and some chemical hand warmers. And it made gathering around a fire extra nice. It rained at some point but I don't recall exactly when.

We had several new people join us this year and I hope they all had a good time along with all the repeat offenders. I'll keep throwing this party if you guys keep showing up.

If I was still doing the Saturday Night Awards there are two people who would be getting them this year. They can tell their own stories. One award would involve deer and the other would be something about tire selection.

Special thanks:

As usual Gabe crushed it with the t-shirt design. Thank you to Gabe and everyone who bought a shirt. I'll figure out who the money goes to soon.

Chad and Becky and Chris and Geri: killer job on dinner Saturday night.

Andy with various bread related products cooked on a grill. Never thought brisket and jalapeno pizza would be a good combo but it worked.

Barb and Bill with garage night, Joe and Deb with Friday charcuterie at Hidden Acres, Brian and Rosemary (and Norm) at the world's longest remodel by Boaz; thank you to all of you for providing a destination for people who need one.

And another thank you to Joe for hooking up the TWALD 2025 beer with the folks at Hillsboro Brewing. When I reached out to Neal about doing a beer can label he got back to me with the rough draft pretty quickly and we ran with it.

The biggest thanks of all goes to Jennifer for not only letting me continue to perpetrate this silliness for the last 23 years but also for being a beer can label model.

Labor day comes late next year so TWALD 2026 will be September 11, 12 and 13. And t-shirts are pre order only. Don't say I didn't warn you.
