Minutes
7/24/2009

Shirhad Meah welcome everyone at 6:40 pm and meeting started. Joseph
Arana, Sakkar Khan Kossof, Khadija Begum, Nuwan Wickramasekera,
Tenzing Bhulia, Sanman Thapa, Gulshan Amin, and Rashid Amin were
present at the meeting. Tenzing Bhulia left early.

- Everyone introduced them self and where they live in. Khadiza from
Bangladesh and she lives in Woodside. Joshep Arana from India and he
lives in South ozon park. Everyone else was explained on last
meeting’s minuets.
- Sanman Thapa explained what leadership council is.
- Shirhad Meah and Seema Agnani recapped from last meeting.
- Nuwan Wickramasekera brought Basement issue.
- Seema talked about ADU.
- Planning for next six month from agenda was postponed for next
meeting.

Joseph Arana: Talked about NYCHA. It is hard to get any information
from NYCHA. And their system just doesn’t work. When applicant changes
housing area it’s hard to get any information from NYCHA.

Seema: Access to Housing is hard. Priority is affordable housing. Some
developer make affordable housing.

Shirhad: Asked leadership council to take part and attend candidate
forum. He also talked about foreclosure clinic and homeownership
workshop. Chhaya CDC can hold these events for Somite/community group.
He talked about volunteer opportunity at Chhaya CDC. If member from
leadership council know someone who wants to volunteer/intern, they
can refer them to Chhaya CDC and Volunteer/intern job description was
distributed to all members.

There was discussion about reaching out to Jackson Height Merchant
Association and to contact Sonita. She is daughter of Shiv Das
President of Jackson Heights Merchant Association.

On the next Leadership Council meeting there is going to be ADU
presentation. Next Leadership Council Meeting on Friday 6:30 pm,
September 11, 2009.

The Leadership Council Meeting was adjourned with unity clap.
