The Ice Cream Station will be open on Sunday's during hunting season from 12:00pm-3:00pm.
A Thanksgiving lunch was held at the Baptist church this past Sunday.  The turkey was furnished and lots and lots of scrumptious dishes that went along with turkey and dressing were brought and enjoyed by all.  A missionary from Brazil spoke at both the morning and the evening service.
Your favorite Cherokee, Texas news editor heard that Candace would have her new grandbaby at the service.  Sure wish I could have been there to see that new grandbaby!
News from The Cockrums.  We've quickly gotten used to having an endless selection of food, entertainment, and shopping venue's to choose from.  How on earth did we ever make it without Starbucks?  A day or evening of shopping just isn't complete without it!  If you're not sure what to try next at Starbucks-  I recommend this:  French Vanilla Chai Frappuccino.  Mmmmmm!
A nice place to eat a little closer to home is the Sonic in San Saba.  We haven't been there in a couple of months but we have fond memories of good, fresh and hot food and extremely good service.
I received an email from Charles Cook a couple of weeks ago.  Charles graduated from Cherokee High School a number of years ago-  ahhh, '63 to be exact!  Charles was telling me about the new Fains Honey website which is located at: www.fainshoney.com.  My family has been enjoying goods from Fains Honey, located just South of Llano, for quite a few years.  Our favorite is the honey with a bit of honeycomb in it.  I've always heard that local honey is the best remedy for allergies that there ever was.  I don't know if it is or not but fresh honey on a hot biscuit can sure start the day out right!   I was just surfing their website and it looks like there are a lot of great gift ideas there so ya'll go check our their offerings.
Birthday's in Cherokee this week are: Gary Estep, Pat Pool, Eddie Onisto, Anhelica Trinidad, Gracie Perry, Maria Perry, Stephen Austermann, Coolidge Ake, Jenna Sloan, Levi Kitchens and Ronnie Graves.
Anniversaries in Cherokee this week are: Mr. & Mrs. John Altizer,  Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Rhoades, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dufner.
Happy Thanksgiving to all from Cherokee, Texas!

Another local entity and website was brought to my attention recently.  Candace Henderson's Springs of Cold Creek Bed and Breakfast.  Check out the website at:
