Well folks, I didn't intend to take a break from doing the news but school
ended, things got hectic and I just plain forgot two weeks in a row and managed
each time to recall that I 'hadn't' done the news much later in the week.
We have finally settled into our summer routine so perhaps there will be no
further breaks.
The CIA from the Baptist Church went on their annual camp and from all
reports, everyone had a great time. There were eight boys and four girls
that made the trip.
Danny Duggan and Doug Suggs took nine children to the Heart of Texas
Bible Camp last week in Brady. Judy Fairchok was honored by being chosen
"Miss Heart of Texas Bible Camper". She also broke her nose sumo
wrestling! Plus she turned 16. A very big week for Judy. Cyndi
Suggs spent last week in LaPort visiting children and grandchildren. She
and Payton spent a lot of time together. They went to the beach and
zoo. Several children and staff from Cherokee Home for Children went to
San Antonio to the zoo and the Whitt Museum.
LaVoyce Sellman had her last chemo treatment last week. Clarece Lively had
surgery in the South Austin Hospital but is back at rehab now.
Sue and Robert Broyles hosted Will Broyles and Sara
Crosby's rehearsal dinner at their home last Friday night. If
you have not seen Sue's yard stop by and have a look. It is really
nice.
Ryan, Lacy and Payton Duggan were in Cherokee visiting Danny and Janiece
Duggan. Ryan was in Will Broyles wedding. Tommy, Kaci, Talli and
Tori Morrison are going to Ohio to spend time with Jared, Kim, Landon and the
new baby.
Several of the children and staff of Cherokee Home for Children are on
vacation.
Becky, Jeff and Ashley Cockrum were at the rodeo in San Saba Saturday night
and helped in the concession stand. We got to see and visit with a lot of
friends and saw a great but muddy rodeo!
Until next week, that's the news from Cherokee,
Texas!
