Cherokee was blessed with rain early Monday
morning.
I'm fairly certain that everyone who needs a prom
or otherwise formal dress for graduation and other end of school year ceremonies
has found one but if not, I want to tell you about the Fairy Godmother
Foundation which is based out of Leander, Texas. This is an organization
that loans formal dresses and all the trimmings (shoes, jewelry) for
special occasions at no charge. You can learn more about the Fairy
Godmother Foundation at: www.fairygodmotherfoundation.com You
can also read more about the Foundation later this week on the Cherokee, Texas
website.
Last Saturday, 27 people from the Cherokee Church
of Christ went to Fort Worth to help Rapha International pack medical
supplies. These medical supplies are for locations throughout the world
that can not obtain or do not have medical supplies.
Doug and Cyndi Suggs
spent the week-end in LaPort, Texas visiting grandchildren and children.
Sydnie Suggs was in the Silvan Beach Jr. Miss Pageant. Nettie Jean
Randolph and Kelli and Ashley Jenske spent the week-end taking care of Jamie,
Jena and Jessica Ball while Sid and Kristi Ball went to Las Vegas. Nettie
Jean and Kelli might need the next vacation. Ben Campbell visited in
Cherokee last weekend. Mary Ellen Davis was in Granbury last weekend
visiting her grandchildren, Chad and Laura Johnson. Of course, she enjoyed
the great-grandchildren. Kevin Randoph spent the weekend with Richard and
Jerry Randolph. Robbie, Paulie and Skye Broyles came from Spring Branch to
attend the roping Saturday. They spent the night with Robert and Sue
Broyles before heading for Fredericksburg where Skye rode in the barrel
competition. Jim and Melody Ball were in Lampasas Sunday and Monday
keeping Jessica, Jamie and Jenna Ball. Brandon
Capps from Lampasas spent several days with Maybelle and Gary Ray.
Suni Norris had surgery in Scott and White last week. Beth
Estep was in the Llano Hospital last week. Randy Henderson spent a few
days in the hospital. He says he won't be fixing any more water
gaps.
Until next week, that's the news from Cherokee,
Texas!
