    There will be Sunrise Services at the football field Easter Sunday at 7:15 a.m.   Following the services the Baptist men will be serving breakfast.  Everyone is invited.   The Baptist Church will have an Easter egg hunt after breakfast Sunday morning.  It should be around 8:30 a.m.  The Methodist Church will have an Easter egg hunt after church Sunday. 
 
    Ten children from the Cherokee Church of Christ went to San Angelo Saturday and competed in a Bible Bowl.  They won a second place trophy.  Talli Morrison won a fifth place individual trophy.  The children had been studying the book of John for several months.  Congratulations! 
 
    On April 15, 2007  the Church of Christ will host a Family Day.  Everyone is invited to come and stay for a dinner to follow.  Starting that evening a group of Sojourners will be here to hold a meeting Sunday evening through Wednesday evening.  Come and bring a friend.
 
 Delton and Valerie McGuire went to Abilene to see their son Travis McGuire in a modern opera at Abilene Christian  University. The opera was "Street Scene" written by Kurt Weill and lyrics by Langston Hughes. The play "Street Scene" was written by Elmer Rice. Travis sang the bass lead role. The opera takes place in New York City in the  20's and tells about the lives of people living in 
tenements.
 
    The Kuykendall and Cherokee Cemeteries will have their annual meeting on April 14 at the Cherokee School Cafeteria.  The meetings will start at 1:00 p.m.
 
    Maxine Briggs from Nixon, Texas visited Maybelle and Gary Ray recently. Joyce, Randy and Brandon Capps from Lampasas visited Maybelle and Gary Ray last Saturday.  Joyce wanted to go see how low the water was around the lake at Bluffton and Tow.  Hope it has gotten full since it has been raining.  We all enjoyed the ride. 
 
    It is good to have Richard Randolph home from the hospital.  Kevin, Mary and Jaze Randolph spent the weekend with Richard and Jerry.  Mary Low had surgery at Scott and White at Temple last Friday.  She is at home and doing really good.
 
    Funeral services were held Saturday for Elsie Johnson, mother of Betty Bailey.  We extend our sympathy to Betty and her family.
