The Youth will be doing their puppet show at the Baptist Church next Sunday night at 6:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served after the puppet show.  Everyone is invited.
Remember the Puppet Team won gold in competition last month.  The youth from the Baptist Church went to Eagle Pass last weekend.  On Saturday they provided a puppet clinic for area churches.  Some of the churches were Pedres Negres and Quemado.  They provided a Saturday night service for Camino Del Reay.  They did the entire Sunday morning service at Primera Iglesia Baptista.  The Baptist Youth went Christmas Caroling last Sunday night.
A large group from the Baptist Church were in San Saba Sunday night to enjoy the Christmas music at the First Baptist Church.  The new building is beautiful and the music was wonderful.
Some of the children and adults from the Cherokee Church of Christ went to the nursing homes in San Saba and Llano last Sunday.  They delivered Christmas cookies and sang Christmas carols.  Everyone had a good time.
Mayzell Bagley hosted the ladies at the Cherokee Church of Christ and ladies from town at a Ladies Night Out Christmas Party.  The food was delicious and she is such a gracious hostess.
Doug and Cyndi Suggs would like to thank all those from Cherokee that came to their open house last Sunday.  Everyone in town is so nice and kind to them and that is their way of saying thank you.  Lots of people came and enjoyed themselves.
Cherokee's Varsity Girls won first place in the Basketball Tournament.  Keith and Keri Davis would like to thank everyone who helped out at the concession stand.  They need help for the regular season.
Last Saturday the town was a bit noisy.  There were lots of motorcycles driving through to the pavilion at the Cherokee Home for Children.  It was the Hill Country Toy run group.  Every year they bring gifts for the children living at Cherokee Home for Children.  It was a little cool but everyone had fun, food, fellowship, motor cycle rides and of course gifts.
Flora Bowden reported that she got to meet her new great-great nieces, Jenna and Jamie Ball at church Sunday.  She said that they were beautiful.  Bernice Kuykendall is going to be a great grandmother again.  Her granddaughter Dawn is expecting.  Congratulations!
It was good to see Kristi Ball and Jamie and Jenna in services at the Cherokee Church of Christ on Sunday.  They were there with Charles and Nettie Jean Randolph.  Both girls are doing really well and we are all thankful for that.  Danny and Janiece Duggan and Dianne and Dale Scott just returned from a cruise to the Caribbean.  They had a great time and looked rested.  Mr. and Mrs. Alex Broyles and children spent the weekend at their home in Cherokee.   Mrs. Elaine Perry and grandson from Stephenville spent the weekend with Chris, Kristy and Charles Perry.  The attended the basketball tournament.
Lavoyce Sellman got a bad report last week.  Her cancer has returned.  She will find out Wednesday what treatment options she has.  Stephanie Bowden Russell was released from the hospital last week.  She is recovering slowly.  Her Mom is staying with her.  Ann Altizer had surgery at Seton Hospital last week.  She is back home.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Church of Christ for Mrs. Albert (Catherine) Hiilsmeier. She was laid to rest in the Kuykendall Cemetery.   Harold and Maridell Johanson from LaVernia visited in Cherokee last Sunday.  Harold spoke at Catherine Hiilsmeier's funeral.
