I was surprised to hear that if you buy power from the grid it costs ~$0.12 per unit. However, if you sell surplus power from your solar collector back to the grid, energy suppliers only credit you ~$.04 per unit.
 
Could there be an opportunity for a cooperative to be formed to receive the small surplus power credits from individuals and then sell them at a  price which the market determines?
