We will be leaving Wednesday May 10th, one week from tomorrow and are
looking forward to getting back HOME to Chad! Just wanted to ask you
again to pray for a few specific things:
Presidential elections in Chad are tomorrow, Wednesday, May 3rd. We are
very thankful that there has been peace in most of the country and that
the rebel attacks in the capital have not been repeated. Please pray
for peaceful elections and also for the situation in Darfur to be
stabilized. The conflict from Sudan is spilling over into Chad and
there are a lot of people suffering as a result of that.
For our family - please pray for special grace for all of us this last
week of packing and saying good-bye. The boys are ready to go back and
excited but also a bit unsettled. We have lots to do and are trying to
keep a semblance of normal routine in the boys lives, as much as
possible. Grandma Groff is a great help with this and always ready to
read books with them and play outside - praise God for Grandma! :-)
Please also pray for a safe, uneventful trip back for us, and peaceful
children the whole way from here to N'Djamena! (It would be great, too
if all of our luggage arrives on time!) Also pray for a good trip from
N'Djamena to Sarh (we will be travelling by road after we get our truck
repaired in N'Djamena - will try to send a note to say we've safely
landed!) We would also appreciate your prayers that we find good
housing in Sarh - We have a few friends looking for us and they have
found some possibilities but of course we need to see and negotiate a price.
We have been so blessed by the way God has provided for us during our
stay in the US and for our return tickets. We are returning to Chad
encouraged and refreshed, and that's a good thing!
DTS students and staff leave this week for their outreach - please pray
for effective partnering with the local churches and that many would
come to the Lord.
Thanks very much,
Moses, Jo, Josh, Zack and Marianna
