Dear friends,
Choice greetings from Chad and Happy blessed Year to all of you!
We hope you are doing fine and trust that God, our loving and caring Father will stand by our side during this end of times in which troubles are everywhere around the world. We are so grateful for some of you who have written to encourage us and thankful for all of you who have not forgotten us in your daily prayers.
Our Family
As a family, we all fine. We
thank God for the transformation of our oldest son Daniel. Before going to the
Christian college in Koumra, we were quite anxious about his notorious conduct
and behavior at home and at school. We were surprised how he was changed when he
came on Christmas to visit us. The result of his first term exam was also
encouraging. He is among the 5 first students in his class.
We thought that having 4 kids are enough for us as we have extended family in Africa, but an unexpected pregnancy occurred after 6 years from the birth of Jean Luc our last son. The baby will come probably at the end of this month. Please pray for a safe delivery.
Back at the last week of November 2005, I had the privilege to coordinate a national prayer program in our city. I am sure that most of you have known that our nation is producing the oil and is exporting it. Obviously the economical situation of this third world country should change. But unfortunately this is not the case. Basic needs such as electricity and running water are still a luxury for many people. So for a week, intercessors from different cell networks and cities of the nation came together for a strategic payer program for the nation and for Africa. I enjoyed particularly the day of fasting and prayer in which we were divided in small groups and we went into different parts of the town (markets, schools, evil altars, offices ….) praying and claiming the city for Jesus. I am looking forward with excitement to see the transformation God will perform in our town.
The city of Sarh is quite dirty. This is where the transformation may begin. During the prayer program, the spirit of God led us to take an special offering of 200 US Dollars as a token to support the project of our brother Ludovic from Youth With A Mission (YWAM) whom God has given the vision of cleaning the town of Sarh. About 13 local churches in the town are already motivated to involve their members for this cleaning program. It will be a good testimony that the church is not only interested in spiritual wellbeing of the people but also in their social well being.
You remembered in our previous news letter, we have asked you to pray for an evangelism outreach organized by one of our local church in the village of Maibo. The program went out quite well despite the sound equipments that were very small comparing to the number of people coming to hear the gospel. New believers were added to the church and we give all the glory to God.
But in the same village, few weeks later, on my way back from a literacy training program, I was attacked by a traditional group of people in occult celebration on the main road. I thought It was a normal dancing as usual in many villages in Africa at night. Unfortunately, I saw through the lights of the car that the people were carrying machetes, spears, swords, sticks…..etc. I switched off the road lights and I started turning the car to go to the sugar cane company that was parallel to the government main road. As I am slowing down the car, they ran to the car throwing their guns to us. I was so scared and I started crying to God for help. Few minutes later I succeed to escape them but one the lateral windscreen was completely destroyed with lot of scratches on the car. It was a miracle that none of the three of us in the car was injured. Through that experience, I can see how wicked is the devil, enslaving the people God has created in His own image in such a horrible and shameful bondage. Please pray that the power of Jesus may destroy the works of the evil one in that village.

Students from our Bible School
Since January, we have started with our bible school session. We are expecting more than 15 students but only 9 have managed to come. It is quite a challenge because these last years less people are responding to the call of God for ministry. Part of it, the miserable life condition of pastors in remote village is not encouraging. I have heard a very bad report that 2 pastors from the Apostolic church got converted to Islam just to improve their living standard. I’ll appreciate very much your prayers for the basic needs of our students and that each one of them may have a personal visitation from God during this session.

Our literacy program is shifting from his traditional approach of just learning to write and read. People do have many other needs that are preventing them to attend regularly the literacy class. Most of learners are living in villages in which the rate of poverty is very high. During our last general assembly, we thought it will good to integrate development in our strategy. Therefore we’ll not just continue to deal with illiteracy, but we’ll also help learners to improve their daily living condition. Activities such as having a better local toilet, clean water, transforming local product for better conservation and selling and small business generating financial resources will be more considered. Please if you might be some help in setting up these parallel development activities, let us know and I’ll give more information.
Prayers Request

With love in Him
