The Liberal Catholic Church provides the opportunity for people who are
attracted to Catholicism to legitimately and in good conscience
practice their
faith.
We are NOT Roman Catholic, and do Not claim to be.
We do maintain a Valid and
Documented Catholic Apostolic Succession of Holy Orders, so our
Sacramental
Ministry is Truly Catholic.
But we are fully independent of any connection with
the Roman Church.
Our Apostolic Succession is derived from the Old Catholic Church of
Holland,
Archepiscopal See of Utrecht.
On April 28, 1908 Bishop Arnold Harris Matthew was
consecrated to the Episcopacy by the Archbishop of Utrecht, Gerardus
Gul, at the
Cathedral of St. Gertrude in Utrecht.
We derive our Holy Orders through Bishop Matthew, and have maintained
this unbroken and documented link.
In a curious historical development this is the very same source where
Prime Bishop Francis Hodur of the Polish National Catholic Church
derived his
Episcopal consecration when on September 29, 1907, just a year earlier,
Archbishop Gul consecated Bishop Hodur at St. Gertrudes also.
The Orders of the
Polish National Catholic Church are accepted as "valid" by the Roman
Church.

The Liberal Catholic Church is part of a subdivision of Catholic
Churches which also include, but are not dependent upon, the Roman
Catholic Church, Old
Catholic Church,
Polish National Catholic Church, Anglican Catholic, Orthodox, and many
Independent Catholic Jurisdictions.
Our " Catholicity" is dependent upon having and maintaining a
"Valid" Apostolic Succession of Holy Orders, an organic and unbroken
link of bishops dating back to the Apostles, and
maintaining the Traditional Sacramental Liturgical Orthopraxis.
For those concerned about leaving the Roman Catholic Church, It's NOT
leaving the CATHOLIC Church, but moving from one room to another.
Jesus told us that "In My Fathers House There Are Many
Mansions." ( John:14-2)
For those who wish to continue to move forward, but not away from
their Catholic Heritage, without the oppression of dogmatic
authoritarianism, The Liberal
Catholic Church provides the ideal Sacramental Church Home.
We ARE Catholic, not Roman Catholic. We are on the same tree, just
different
branches.
Our Primary emphasis is on the unconditional
acceptance and love of Jesus Christ for ALL persons. We encourage
complete freedom of thought, choice, and belief, and we respect your
individual choices.
We are The Catholic Church of Religious Liberty We are The Liberal
Catholic
Church.
Jesus is inviting YOU to "come back to the Sacraments, Come back home."
