VEGETARIANISM:
To Be or Not To Be.

When people inquire about Our Church they find that many members and
clergy are practicing Vegetarians, and wonder if this is a requirement
for membership.

Let us set the record straight, NO, it is not a requirement for
membership or
participation in our Church.

The ONLY requirement we have for lay persons to join or participate in
our Church life is that they come and participate with reverence and
sincerity of heart.

Thats' it, peroid!

We do Not have a *litmus test* that persons who want to join our
Church must pass.

Vegetarianism is a voluntary choice made by the individual. There are
valid and legitimate Spiritual reasons why vegetarian diet is
advantageous to a persons spiritual life and growth, and we will
briefly touch upon some of them. To explore the further reasons in
depth would require several volumes.

We will make some statements that seem incredulous to the
inexperienced, we
understand this. All we can hope for is that our inquirers will not
dismiss our
statements out of hand, but keep an open mind and seriously consider
these thoughts in the back of their minds.

To practice a vegetarian diet today is much easier than it was years
ago. There are many more resources and options available. And there
are many different reasons why the vegetarian option appeals to people.

Some choose it for health reasons, some for humanitarian reasons, some
for ecological reasons, some for ethical reasons, all of these are
salutory and commendable. For the spiritual
disciple however these are not THE main reason.

Liberal Catholic Theology is based upon a Spiritual Science, known as
The Ancient Wisdom, which, while it does include a philosophy, is
based upon a *Practice* of living.

The Greek word *Praxis* refers to a *doing* as opposed toa *doxy*
which refers to thought or belief.

The Liberal Catholic Theology does not have a Ortho-doxy, it does have
an
Ortho-praxis.

A science would show that all of our doings will have results or
effects, although these results may not be immediately apparant to our
senses.

The fabric of Gods' world, the woof and warp of creation is composed
of many many differing levels of vibration and harmony all resonateing
differently, yet in unison with Gods' purpose.

The ONLY difference between God, the Cosmic Being, and Man, the
individual being is NOT one of *quality* but of *quantity.* We ARE the
*stuff* of God in miniature.

We but see this Truth darkely, as St.Paul tells us because we are
opaque and filled with the heaviness of the carnal mind.

Consumption of meat and alcohol contribute to the domination of the
carnal mind and darken our opaqueness, further blinding us to the
Light of Truth.

The fabric of our individual nature must become translucent and
transparent so that we may be enabled to see with the *Mind of
Christ,* and then verily Truly do we see.

A vegetarian diet and abstention from alcohol contribute significantly
to improving the fabric of our individual Nature and enabling us to
resonate in tune with our inherent Christ Nature.

The disciple works at making himself transparent and resonent with The
Christ.

This is not accomplished overnight. It is a longterm task and requires
daily
attention and most importantly dedicated practice, practice, practice.

It is not important that right now we may be far from perfect. What IS
important is that we be determined that we will head in this direction
and one day be fully resonent with our Christ Nature.
