That's the best they could come up with?  They're certainly reaching.  I wonder if Casey has admitted to them that she did it.  They don't have to tell anyone if she did, if I remember correctly.  No one is going to be able to garner sympathy for that woman, I hope she rots in jail for what she did to that precious little girl.
