Dear sir,
In my Anvi's health update mail I have mentioned you that hospital people have kept our discharge on hold. To be specific they will not discharge us unless and until we settle their hospital bill. In this entire matter there is a dispute. It is such that since day 1 we were short of funds and the doctors were completely aware about it. When our first story appeared in Mid day, we were approached by the chairman of the hospital Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty. He through Dr. Sharat Damodar (Head of BMT) offered us help in Anvi's case. That was one of the secondary reasons we opted Bangalore for the transplant. From day 1 to last week we were assured by the doctors that they will give us the best possible concessions. Even if you go through Anvi's news in February Dr. Devi Shetty had announced in media that he will give the best possible financial concession for Anvi. Doctors asked us to accumulate funds as much as we could manage and the remaining funds
can be waived off. But since last week management started passing us the message that the maximum concession which can be offered is 10% of the entire bill amount.
Hence we have again started to accumulate funds. Doctors have still assured that they will speak to Dr. Devi Shetty and try and get some more percentage of discount. But the concerned person through who Dr. Shetty can be approached is on leave and will be joining only on Thursday. So we will have to wait till then. We were very upset the way hospital people have taken this turn, but still have some hope.
I have a few lakhs reserved for Anvi's post transplant medication and our next six months stay in Bangalore. Also there will be a surgical expense to remove her centre line for which we need to reserve some funds. I also need to keep some amount reserved for any unexpected emergency. If I utilized the reserved funds to settle the hospital bill I will be left with nothing in hand and then it will be little difficult to survive as Anvi still will require transfusion support for a few more months.
Sir I would therefore request you to let me know what are the remaining funds with you. I will have to quote the management the final amount which we can pay the hospital people against the bills. So that they can further look into the concession part.
Thanks again for the immense help from your side. And sorry to bother you again .
Thanks,
Ruchita
