Job Description
The Family Law Unit at Legal Services NYC-Bronx is seeking legal interns
for the spring semester 2012. Our family law unit assists parents
trying to keep children out of the foster care system and represents
domestic violence survivors in Family and Supreme Court and in
immigration proceedings. Interns will participate at all stages of the
cases, including intake and client interviews, case review, research,
trial preparation, and trials. Interns will also have the opportunity to
prepare and file immigration applications, including U and T non
immigrant status applications, Battered Spouse Waivers, and VAWA
Self-Petitions. Interns are expected to commit to 10-15 hours per week.
Qualifications
Law student or graduate. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
