Dear all,

We are migrating the Cardinal MSI Help group to Slack!

This is motivated for a number of reasons:

1. Google Groups feels somewhat abandoned by Google.
2. It is difficult or impossible to respond to Google Groups messages on mobile.
3. Formatting code is not supported and more difficult than it should be.

Some advantages I am hoping a migration to Slack will provide:

1. Faster support thanks to support for code formatting and a better mobile experience
2. A better community experience allowing for more organic discussions of MSI analysis
3. More direct interaction between Cardinal developers and users

There are a couple disadvantages:

1. Discoverability. Slack unfortunately requires an invitation to join a workspace. However, Cardinal MSI help members will be able to easily share an invite link with others, and I will try to keep an active link posted on the Cardinal Github issues. You can always email me directly for an invite!

2. Shorter history. A paid Slack workspace is not currently feasible for us, so we are limited to the free version. This means messages will be deleted after 90 days. I plan to create an FAQ for recurring issues to help with this.

Overall, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and a move from Google Groups has been needed for a long time.

I am also hoping this will make it easier for me to post updates and news that may be relevant to Cardinal users, such as changes in next releases and upcoming conferences, courses, and workshops.

Please join via the following invitation link:

This link will expire in 15 days. I will post a new one after that.
